The role will have day to day responsibility to manage projects and undertake product design task activities on individual projects.

The products are connected through an innovative technology which empowers users to control or monitor their entry points through smartphone access.

Description

Core responsibilities include:

  • Develop mechanical design concepts, part drawings and prototypes to prove new product ideas.
  • Creation of product requirements specifications and test plans for NPD project.
  • Provide design and product specifications to manufacturers (Internal and external)
  • Manage and participate in various product design, analysis, testing, and debugging activities.
  • Ensure that all products meet and maintain compliance to the regulatory standards.
  • Regular visits to key customers and provide technical assistance to Marketing when required

Profile

The successful applicant will have tertiary qualifications in Mechanical, Electro Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience. You will have:

  • 2-4 years' experience as an engineer in a relevant finished product, mechanical or electro-mechanical product development field, preferably with consumer or industrial product applications
  • Project management skills related to product development and delivery of industrial or consumer products, including product specification and testing methodology
  • Experience dealing with product or electrical compliance standards
  • Working knowledge of DC and AC motors and control systems
  • Excellent kniowlegde of various manufacturing methods - injection moulding, die casting
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Computer literate with working knowledge of MS Office applications, MS Project and Solidworks or Pro-E or other CAD application
