About the role

Right now we’re on the lookout for a Senior Electrical and Instrumentation Engineer to support our Kwinana Production Facility.

As the newest member of the Kleenheat team, you’ll report to our Technical Superintendent and be responsible for optimising the operation and reliability for our LPG and LNG plants and assets. As an experience engineer you will share your expertise with the broader engineering, maintenance and production teams to improve plant performance whilst promoting and contributing to a safe working environment.

This will include:

  • Ensuring safety remains priority number one.
  • Working closely with operations and maintenance teams to solve plant defects; maximise the reliability of equipment; and assist with the planning, implementation and completion of scheduled and unscheduled shutdown maintenance.
  • Designing and developing instrumentation/electrical systems in accordance with relevant standards.
  • Utilising your Instrument/Electrical expertise to initiate and drive plant, systems and equipment improvements and develop opportunities for future growth.
  • Monitoring compliance of electrical work and equipment in line with statutory requirements for Major Hazard Facilities.
  • Actively providing leadership and keeping open lines of communication in relation to safety, production, cost and improvement ideas.

To excel in the role you’ll need the right mix of skills and experience, which for this position means:

  • Tertiary qualification in Instrumentation / Electrical Engineering disciplines
  • Demonstrated experience in plant operations or maintenance experience within the oil and gas or chemicals industries or similar.
  • Sound practical and working knowledge of engineering disciplines.
  • Knowledge of Functional safety applicable to process industry
  • Knowledge of hazardous area codes and requirements
  • Experience with DCS systems (familiarity with Emerson DCS systems would be an advantage) and field instrumentation.
  • Proven analytical skills that you apply to tackle business and engineering challenges.
  • Highly motivated and engaged person who thrives in an operational environment.
  • Highly effective influencer, able to lead change and innovation.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with strong written and verbal communication abilities.
