The project 

Join a new team in an established company to lead and supervise operations of an integrated street lighting project, including LED upgrade, infrastructure maintenance and service operation.

About the role

We are seeking to appoint an experienced Electrical Supervisor to join our ACT Street Lighting Project Team to provide field direction and technical support throughout the completion of the ACT Street Lighting network upgrade and maintenance works. This full-time position is based at our ACT Depot and reports directly to the Project Manager. 

The upgrade works consist of territory wide installation of efficient LED luminaires. 
The maintenance works consist of ensuring high availability of street lighting in the territory, and an efficient response to customer requests. Specifically, the infrastructure in the ACT is composed of cabinets, underground cables, poles and luminaires.

 

Key duties/Responsibilities

  • Supervise the installation of electrical equipment in a timely and safe manner.
  • Ensure all company equipment is clean, maintained and in good working order.
  • Provide timely reports on progress of projects, quality standards and work practices.
  • Optimise resources (labour, vehicles, plant and materials) to achieve and maintain a high service level and network availability.
  • Ensure the highest level of Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality performance are achieved.
  • Motivate several crews of Electricians, and Subcontractors to deliver the project objectives.
  • Ensure tasks re completed in accordance with Electrix and external requirements, legislation and regulations.

 

Skills/Experience

  • Certificate III in Electrotechnology (or equivalent)
  • Electrical mechanics License for the ACT
  • High Risk Work License - Elevating Work Platform
  • Current CPR and First Aid certificate
  • Construction Industry White Card (or equivalent)
  • Previous experience as a Supervisor on electrical infrastructure maintenance projects
  • Understand Safety and Quality Plans
  • Understand LED lighting technology
  • Previous experience using Assets Management Systems
  • Knowledge of electrical regulations and industry requirements
  • A current Drivers Licence
  • Applicants must be available for after-hours emergency response when required
