About our Client

Our client is Australia's largest coal miner and exporter, the world's largest supplier to the sea borne coking coal market and largest coal producer and supplier of metallurgical coal. The client has several mine sites across the Bowen Basin consisting primarily of open cut mines. About the Role

Opportunities exist for skilled and experienced Heavy Auto Electricians who will contribute to the successful operations of this mine site.


Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, you will repair and conduct preventative maintenance on the mobile fleet in the field and workshop. You will also inspect and determine equipment condition and assess its suitability to return to service.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • General maintenance to mobile plant equipment.
  • Excavator maintenance and repairs.
  • Mobile plant maintenance and repairs – trucks, dozers, graders and loaders.
  • An absolute commitment to working safely, complying with all site safety standards and ensuring a safe and environmentally healthy workplace is essential.
  • Follow all mine site procedures including equipment serviceability, housekeeping and compliance.


  • Minimum 2 years' experience in Auto Electrician role.
  • Trade certificate.
  • Experience on heavy equipment including – CAT, Hitachi and Liebherr.
  • Current Standard 11.
  • Current Coal Board Medical.
  • Beneficial tickets – Working at Heights, Forklift, Crane etc.
  • A medical including drug and alcohol testing is required as part of the recruitment process.


Length of assignment

We currently have two roles available:

  • Role 1 dates: 6 Dec 2017 - Jun 2018
  • Role 2 dates: 22 Nov 2017 - 24 Jan 2018



  • Camp and meals provided.
  • 7/7 Roster, rotating days and nights.
  • Meals, accommodation and flights provided
