The Job

Swick are currently seeking experienced Heavy Plant / Drill Fitters to join our team on a fixed-term basis. Working as a Plant Fitter at Swick your main responsibility will be to provide service and maintenance to all assets allocated to the Surface RC drilling division at our Guildford workshop.

 

The Candidate

Working on our customised fleet you will be trade qualified, a good communicator and will have a high regard for safety. Your experience in unsupervised mechanical fault finding, breakdown repair and maintenance is essential to ensure your success in this role.

 

Selection Criteria:

Essential:

  • Heavy automotive trade qualification
  • Previous maintenance experience working with surface RC or blast hole drill equipment, Atlas or Sullair two stage compressors and Hurricane boosters
  • Good understanding of high pressure air systems
  • Ability to work on heavy transport equipment and use OEM diagnostic tools for Mercedes Benz, Cat, Cummins and G-Scan on light vehicles
  • Good understanding of low voltage electrical systems
  • Proven experience in a Field Service role at a remote mine site
  • Advanced hydraulic diagnostics & component rebuild experience
  • Experience/qualifications in servicing and maintenance of 4x4 light vehicle fleet
  • Ability to pass a drug & alcohol and full pre-employment medical
  • Ability to obtain a National Police Clearance

Desirable:

  • Experience or working knowledge with PLCs advantageous
  • HR drivers licence or higher
  • LF Forklift licence
  • Non-slewing crane licence
  • Senior First Aid Certificate
