Job Description

Based in Whinstanes and reporting to the Maintenance Manager, we are looking for experienced and committed Fitter, whose primary responsibility is to manage and carry out maintenance and repairs to all mobile and static road surfacing equipment, both in the field and in workshop. The successful applicant must be available to work both day and/or afternoon shifts as well as have the ability to work away as required to meet operational requirements.

Key duties:

  • Maintenance of a wide range of asphalt manufacturing and mobile equipment
  • Maintain workshop equipment including diagnostic and calibration testing
  • Understand and fault find using engineering drawings and P&ID’s
  • Ensure that paperwork is completed in a timely and accurate manner
  • General workshop duties which will include stocktaking and cleaning
  • Comply with Boral's Workplace Health and Safety requirements at all times.

Skills and Experience:

  • Mechanical Trade qualification (Diesel Fitting desirable)
  • Experience in maintaining both mobile and fixed plant
  • Experience in bitumen/asphalt industry (desirable)
  • Good diagnostic skills
  • Fork lift licence(desirable)
  • Working at heights/confined space tickets (desirable)
  • Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision
  • Solid background in mechanics, hydraulics and auto electrical systems
  • HR License (desirable)
  • Welding skills (desirable) and
  • Well-developed communication skills.
