Job Description

The Mechanical Project Engineer will work within the Commercial engineering team to prioritise and manage design and development activities of new and innovative products.

The role will have day to day responsibility to manage task activities to time and budget constraints. Core responsibilities include:

  • Develop mechanical design concepts, part drawings and prototypes to prove new product ideas.
  • Collaborate with marketing and sales representatives to define product requirements.
  • Provide design and product specifications to manufacturers (Internal and external)
  • Manage and participate in various product design, analysis, testing, and debugging activities.
  • Ensure all new development meets performance and quality criteria as defined.
  • Liaison/control of US and 3rd party electronics development for CDO products.
  • Provide support to Customer service CDO mechanical engineering and factory teams.



The successful applicant will have tertiary qualifications in Mechanical, Mechatronics Engineering or equivalent experience. You will have:

  • 2-4 years’ experience as an engineer in a relevant finished product, mechanical or electro-mechanical product development field, preferably with consumer or industrial product applications
  • Some experience working with suppliers/or in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience dealing with product or electrical compliance standards
  • Working knowledge of DC and AC motors and control systems
  • Practical ‘hands-on’ design and testing approach
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Working knowledge of 3D CAD, ideally with the Solidworks, or Pro-Engineer CAD packages
