What you can expect from MRL
Due to our continued growth through 2018 and beyond, we are seeking an experienced Control Systems Engineer to join our Wodgina based team.

Reporting to our Senior Controls Engineer, your primary responsibility will be to design, implement and maintain equipment for our new processing facilities in the Pilbara.

This new plant will be responsible for the beneficiation of our lithium ore, and is the first of its kind for MRL. This dynamic new project will see you in a hands-on role by providing your expertise in the maintenance of process controls including DCS, HMI, Historian and alarm systems.

But your role doesn’t stop there.

Once commissioning is finished, you will then transition into an operational based role within the Processing team to ensure ongoing continuous improvement and maintenance strategies are in place to keep the plant running at an optimal pace.

Throughout the commissioning phase, the roster will be 3:1 from Perth, and will move to a 9:5 roster once you transition into the operational role.

What we expect from YOU

  • Evaluate equipment and processes to identify ways to optimise performance through trouble shooting and repairing system problems
  • Designing and developing new control systems including testing, maintaining and modifying existing systems
  • Use your expertise and industry knowledge to identify opportunity to improve plant performance through the use of new process control technologies
  • Work collaboratively with other departments to assist in the organisation, planning, preparation and execution of plant shut downs where required
  • Maintain and foster a working environment which prompts safety in all that we do, whilst also providing outstanding service

What YOU will bring

  • Tertiary Qualification in Electrical, Control or Mechatronic Engineering (or similar) or Relevant Trade Qualification
  • Minimum 10+ years’ experience demonstrated process control engineering experience within dry and wet fixed plant environment with strong knowledge in PLC and HMI systems, PLC and Instrumentation Hardware and Network Communications
  • Sound electrical knowledge or Trade background
  • Highly developed communication skills, both written and verbal
