The company has recently won major projects on top of their budding pipeline of work and aims to bring in the right people to contribute to the success of their business.

Your new role
You will be a part of the Industry and Power team working on different aspects of HV power systems. These tasks include complex reporting, tenders, and presentation of analysis and design for HV power systems and earthing systems. Your analysis can include but not limiting to:

  • Fault current levels
  • Dynamic performance systems
  • Reducing electromagnetic transients
  • Power flow studies
  • Harmonic voltages and currents
  • Insulation coordination

You will be designing schematics, IED specification/ configuration, substations for electrical transmission and distribution layouts, and plant specifications. Analysis is also involved for determination of risk levels and applying protection settings and events.

What you'll need to succeed
You will already have recent experience as a power systems engineer to cope in this technically demanding role. You will be a Chartered Engineer with RPEQ status or alternatively, be in a position where you can obtain these certifications. You will be well spoken with good written communication capabilities to liaise with your clients and your team and to present maintenance strategies, and commissioning plans and reports. Your ability to model will be based on your experiences with software CDEGS and ETAP. You will be required to use your knowledge of significant load connections and generators to examine the existing networks.
