We are currently seeking an experienced Machine Guidance Technician at our Blackwater project in Queensland.

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, in this role, you will be required to:

  • Oversee auto electrical, machine guidance, communication and technology repairs and maintenance of mobile mining equipment in accordance with plant maintenance and safety procedures
  • Ensure service and maintenance of site telemetry, communication and machine guidance systems is compliant to Australian and site standards.
  • Coordinate field breakdown situations
  • Coordinate and plan maintenance, servicing and calibration of equipment systems.
  • Source and utilize technical information, technical bulletins, OEM procedures and data from various sources.
  • Manage cost control, source parts and resources economically
  • Maintain high standard of housekeeping always
  • Conduct regular inspections of fleet to maximise equipment availability and reliability


  • Electrical or Communication trade qualification or similar
  • Caterpillar and Liebherr experience desirable
  • IVolve, APS or similar machine guidance system experience desirable
  • Systems experience with IVolve, Mine4D, APS, WiFi link, TyreSense and VHF network highly desirable
  • Post-trade experience working in the mining and heavy earth moving industry
  • Ability to work autonomously and unsupervised to consistent high standards
  • Working at Heights & EWP competencies (or be willing to obtain)
