About the role 

Orica’s New South Wales Sprint Team is used to service our extensive client base in events such as the implementation of new Orica technologies, training and mentoring, production increases, temporary contract variations and campaign loading. The highly diverse nature of the Sprint Team means that its members often have the fantastic exposure of working on many different client sites, therefore gaining knowledge and exposure to different terrains, products, clients and ground conditions.

The New South Wales Sprint Team is growing, and Orica are subsequently seeking interest from multi-skilled and experienced Shortfirer’s / Operator’s with proven experience in various types of blasting methods and products, direct people management including performance management, reporting, and coaching and training to work across various sites.

These are full time Orica staff roles and will work an even time roster. The roles require regular flexibility and ability to travel at short notice. This position will require the successful applicant to work across Coal, Metals, Quarries and Construction.

What you bring

  • 2+ years exposure to working in a similar environment (Essential)
  • A current NSW shotfirer license and experience in running shots (Preferred)
  • Exposure to operating an MMU or similar blast delivery vehicle (Essential)
  • Mechanical, Auto Electrical, fibre optic and hydraulic aptitude
  • A current heavy rigid driving license
  • A flawless attitude toward safety with records from previous employment to prove this
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • A sound knowledge of Orica’s products and services
  • A collaborative team attitude
  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to form trusted relationships with all our client stakeholders
