About the Role

An exciting opportunity has become available in our rapidly growing business for a System Technician (Electrical) ST1, responsible for the Operations & Maintenance of Baggage Handling Systems and Equipment to meet contractual obligations.

Your key responsibilities will include but not limited to:

  • To ensure the effective and efficient operation and maintenance and repair of equipment and related services that is to be delivered under the employers' contract with the customer.
  • To ensure that all faults, and baggage jams are rectified safely, quickly and as efficiently as possible.
  • To ensure that all maintenance tasks are carried out on schedule and to accurately record all work for maintenance and fault rectification.
  • Ensure that all paperwork is completed.
  • To assist in training of new employees and the development of their required skills in all areas.

What we are looking for

Knowledge, skills and Experience

Essential

  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Intermediate Level of Computer Literacy (MS Office Suite)
  • Ability to work through preventative maintenance schedules
  • Ability to plan and prioritise work schedules
  • Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of Nose in Guidance System operations where required under the employers' contract with the customer
  • Ability to work a rotating shift
  • Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of the Baggage Handling Systems and related equipment and services.
  • Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of system fall-back procedures
  • Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of Baggage Handling Systems and Passenger Boarding Bridges.
  • Fault diagnostics & repair
  • Trade Qualifications in either an Electrical or Mechanical background are essential
  • To hold an Airside drivers' license or be able to obtain one is essential
  • To hold a current ASIC pass or be able to obtain one is essential
  • Proactive approach to work and all related tasks

Desirable

  • Post trade certificate in Hydraulics, Programmable Logic Controllers or an appropriate Engineering field are desirable
  • To hold current CPR and LVR accreditation is desirable
  • Understanding of ASI Systems
