The Opportunity
Are you a light vehicle mechanic looking to enter the plant field? You might be a heavy vehicle mechanic tired of working on trucks, an automotive electrician looking to gain mechanical experience or perhaps you are a plant mechanic looking to work for a reputable global leader?
 
An exciting opportunity has arisen for the right person to join the Service Department at our Fairfield branch. Reporting to the PDI Supervisor, the purpose of the role is to complete assembly of Komatsu machinery that complies with our optimum quality standard on a large range of machines including utility, construction and mining equipment. The role plays an integral part in ensuring high levels of safety, quality and efficiency are given to the Komatsu Service Department.
 
The successful person will be able to demonstrate an appropriate level of technical understanding considered transferable to the plant field. The position will include base assembly, fitment of customer specified local options and performance testing of machinery whilst ensuring compliance with SWP installation guides and customer's requirements.
 
The knowledge, skills and abilities we're looking for 
  • An relevant Trade Certificate        - Automotive Light Vehicle (Light Vehicle Mechanic)
- Heavy Vehicle Road Transport (Heavy Vehicle Mechanic)
- Heavy Vehicle Mobile Plant (Plant Mechanic)
- Automotive Electrical Technology (Automotive Electrician)
  • High Risk forklift, overhead gantry, working at heights and confined spaces are desirable but not compulsory.
  • A current driver's licence; MR classification driver's licence will be highly regarded.
  • Automotive Air Conditioning licence will be highly regarded.
  • A high level of customer service and communication, and able to work with internal departments seamlessly on a daily basis whilst demonstrating an understanding of our customer's requirements.
  • A demonstrated commitment to safety with the ability to work in remote areas at times and unsupervised.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and Sound understanding of computer systems.
  • Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) experience, particularly with Komatsu equipment would be a bonus.
